Now, there is a technique that hardly anyone knows about that reduces the calories in food…and I’m about to reveal it. Yes, it really does work!

Specifically it’s starchy foods that you can reduce the calories in. You’re about to learn how to reduce the calories in foods like:

  • potatoes
  • riceJacket Potato
  • pasta
  • sweet potato
  • cous cous
  • kidney beans
  • lentils
  • bulgar wheat etc.

Here’s how it works…

 

RESISTANT STARCH

 

Resistant starch is a type of starch that is present in starchy foods like potatoes in varying amounts. It is less digestible meaning less calories are absorbed. All carbs including starch contain about 4 Calories per gram. But Resistant Starch comes in about about 2 Calories per gram. (NOTE: A good book on Resistant Starch on Amazon UK here and Amazon US here).

So if we can INCREASE the amount of Resistant Starch, we can DECREASE the amount of calories. With me so far?

 

HOW TO REDUCE CALORIES IN FOOD

 

We can increase the amount of Resistant Starch in foods by cooking and then cooling it before eating. It changes the molecular structure. And reheating won’t reduce the resistant starch again.

That’s all you have to do! I use this method all the time. I cook my carbs, like rice and cous cous, in big batches and refrigerate them. Then I re-heat when I’m ready to eat. Easy. And saves me some calories.

 

I also use a lot of the above foods when coaching my clients to get lean fast – not only are they the most filling carbs, but we can reduce the calorie-count further with this method. Couple this with the calorie-burning and satieting effects of the protein foods I recommend, and you will start to understand why my clients start stripping fat off quickly and without experiencing much hunger. It’s awesome!
